Beacon Hill

Beacon Hill is one of Boston's iconic neighborhoods. Covering a half-square mile, Beacon Hill features Federalist Era townhouses and narrow streets lined with brick sidewalks and gas lamps as well as numerous boutiques and restaurants that define its distinct architectural character. Furthermore, Beacon Hill serves as home for the state capitol building which also lends it a special feel.

Beacon Hill's architecture has become iconic over time, appearing in multiple movies and TV shows. Its symmetrical houses with detailed features stand out even from across the street as striking attractions.

Beacon Hill was once an epicenter of wealth and power, populated by Boston Brahmins who built magnificent mansions while other residents constructed elegant row homes that expressed their individual tastes and status - often decorated with beautiful artworks.

Beacon Hill hosts one of the most beloved annual events: the Beacon Hill Art Walk. Held each Sunday morning, visitors can explore Beacon Hill's lush private gardens and alleyways while viewing original works of art on this eventful walkabout. Guided tours are also available!

Wellfleet

Wellfleet is one of Cape Cod's artistic towns and boasts numerous galleries showcasing works by local artists and craftspeople. Many galleries can be found along main streets within Wellfleet itself where visitors can stroll freely throughout the summer season to view an assortment of exhibits.

Cherry Stone Gallery offers rotating art exhibits. Housed in an 1875 barn conversion, the gallery displays works by many local artists - jewelry maker Amber Barricman and painter Steve Swain (renowned for his fish schools murals) are just two such artists featured.

Jim Dine: Early Works exhibition is another popular gallery. Showcasing early drawings and paintings by this iconic artist, it highlights how Dine developed his own set of beliefs about imagery's symbolic power as narrative material.

Brookline

Brookline is an exclave of Boston in Norfolk County, northeast Massachusetts. Cambridge

Cambridge is home to a vibrant arts community that uses various media - painting and sculpture, printmaking and performance are among the many disciplines they specialize in. Many artists receive funding through Cambridge's arts grant program each year which provides support for dozens of high-quality community art projects.

Recent years have witnessed a proliferation of art spaces in Cambridge. These venues feature an assortment of exhibits and events as well as providing emerging artists a space to display their works. Some spaces run solely by volunteers while others hire paid staff members for event management purposes.
